Winston
Winston is an adult male Yellowfoot Tortoise. He came to live with us Aug.2007. He had a very loving owner who realized she could no longer care for a tort his size. She was told about us and decided to place him here at the sanctuary.

Winston's enclosure
His enclosure measures 36 ft. X 36 ft. and has a heated house with a soaking tub. Because Winston's pen gets alot of the days hottest sun he has an umbrella until his newly planted apple tree grows large enough.

Tort pen 1
The 1st. night Winston stayed the night in his outdoor enclosure we had a storm, this is what I found in the morning when I went out to check the animals. If you look through the leaves you can see the blue house.

We didn't hear anything during the night. This is why I don't lock the torts in their houses at night. Winston was able to get out of the house unharmed, I found him on his "porch" waiting for us. It took us 3 hrs. to cut up and remove this bran
